We have returned to offering a selection of our products for order through our online store. We are hopeful by the first week of December we will back to offering all of our products for order once again. We are not taking any phoned in orders at this time. Our free range, Non-GMO turkeys are raised locally by StoneCroft Farm, $5.25 / lb. Thank you for your pre-orders. We are hopeful the turkeys will be available for pickup from December 22 through December 24.

How Do I Pick Up My Order?

To ensure the safety of our staff and customers we are using contactless pickup. Please read the steps before you come and pick up your order to ensure a smooth process.

Order Pickup Steps

1. You will be contacted that your order is ready for pickup, orders can be picked up Monday-Friday 9-4.

2. Drive to our local shop.  Please note we are allowing one customer at a time in the building. Per provincial health regulations, masks are required to enter the building.

3. We will ask you for your order number, please have it ready.

Gunter Quality

For more than 30 years, Gunter Meats has been helping families eat better and live healthier lives.

Our retail store offers a wide selection of fresh and frozen cuts for you to choose from. Our storefront has a variety of cuts of beef, pork, chicken, and lamb, as well as our in house made sausages and smoked products. We also offer 10 lb cases and mixed meat packs to stock your freezer. Most of our customers don’t make it out the door, before biting into a piece of our famous homemade pepperoni!

Who We Are

Our story starts with our grandfather in the 1930’s. Previously trained as a butcher by his grandfather in England, he began as a small on-farm slaughter operation for his own animals. He did door-to-door sales in Cumberland County and Courtenay. In the 40’s and 50’s, the operation was expanded to turkey farming, with 10,000 turkeys. At Gunter Bros Meat Company we specialize in custom cutting, processing, sausage making, and curing. We are located in the Comox Valley, and have served farmers and ranchers on Vancouver Island for more than 30 years with our processing facility. Please see our custom cutting page for pricing, and more information.

COVID-19 UPDATES – November 9, 2020

As of November 9, 2020 we are allowing customers in the building one at a time.  As per provincial health guidelines, you will need to wear a mask to enter.  Please wait for our staff to put your items down and step back before reaching for them.  If you need help, we are happy to bring your order to your vehicle for you.

We want to thank all of our customers for their continued support during this time. You have been amazingly patient as we navigate and make changes to help serve you better. We ask that as we make changes to the products we offer, or how we do business, or the length of wait times for your orders; you remember our staff is doing their best. They have been working hard everyday, in these uncertain times, to keep your freezers full.
